Transitional Kindergarten
Dear Transitional Kindergarten Parents,
We are so excited for the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year. So many wonderful things await us in the months ahead!
Below you will find our Supply List. We respectfully ask that you purchase supplies that match the descriptions as close as possible. This will help us ensure that everyone has the appropriate supplies for their work.
Each student will need to bring:
- Standard Size Backpack (approx. 17” – 18” H)

- 1 - Ream of standard 8 ½” x 11” WHITE copy paper
- 1 box of 10 Crayola Regular Markers - Standard Bold Colors

- 3 - 1.27 oz Avery or Elmer’s Permanent Glue Stick

Gold River Discovery Center Kindergarten Supply List 2024-2025
Below you will find a general list of Kindergarten supplies that your child will need for this year. Your child will need these items on the first day of school. Please be aware that some items will be shared as a grade level.
Kindergarten Classroom Supplies
- Backpack or book bag (big enough for binders to be placed in easily)
- Lunch Box with name clearly labeled
- One paper portfolio folder with pockets at the bottom (no prongs)
- Large glue stick (1.4 oz - “UHU” stick/yellow tube is the best)
- 1 spiral notebooks at least 70 pages (wide ruled)
- 1 pair of earbuds OR headphones (NOT wireless)
- 2 packs of Crayola crayons (24 count – classic colors)
- 1 box of Crayola colored pencils (16 count – classic colors)
Boys
- 2 boxes of tissues
- 1 package of baby wipes
Girls
- 1 box of gallon freezer bags
- 1 roll of paper towels
- 1 package of Clorox wipes
Optional
- 1 set of markers (non-toxic)
- 1 box multicultural crayons (any size)

Below is a list of first-grade supplies your child will need. Our desks are small, so please keep that in mind when shopping for supplies. Your child will need these items on the first day of school. Also, please note some items will be shared as a grade level. We have included clickable links to help provide examples of what materials are needed. Feel free to purchase materials wherever is easiest for you.

Furthermore, your child must know what to do after school on the first day of school. Will your child go to Discovery Club? Who will pick up your child from school and in what location? Is he/she supposed to meet someone for his/her carpool? It might be helpful to practice this routine before the first day to ease any anxious feelings.

Welcome to Gold River Discovery Center! We are looking forward to working with you and having you as part of our team.

- 1 ball-point (Bic type) red pen for correcting
- 2 black Sharpies (one fine, one medium tip)
- 2 black dry erase markers (thin type)
- 1 children’s scissors with pointed tip

- 1 manual pencil sharpener that catches pencil shavings
- 3 large glue sticks
- 1 box of Crayola regular size crayons– 24 pack or colored pencils (24 or less)
- 1 set of Crayola type non-permanent markers (8 pack)
- 1 box of #2 Ticonderoga brand pencils (Please sharpen.)

Due to the extremely small desk space, we ask that you do not bring in “extras” such as large binders or large set of markers. Keep all of those extras in your study space at home! Hello, 4th-grade students! We hope you are having a wonderful summer vacation. Below is a list of supplies that will help you be well-prepared for school in August. Please use a permanent marker to write your name on your supplies before you bring them to school.
- 1 backpack
- 2 three-ring binders, 1 inch
- 2 packages tab binder dividers
- 1 durable, plastic, 3 pronged, pocket folder
- 4 paper pocket folders, 4 different colors if possible
- 1 composition book
- 2 spiral notebooks, college ruled

Dear 5th Grader and Parents,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We are excited about having you in our classes, and we can’t wait to hit the ground running in August and have a very successful learning experience. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Below are the supplies we would like you to have for the year. Please try to bring them in on the first day of school so that we can get organized right away. Some materials won’t be needed until later in the year so a handful of things will be coming back home.
- 1- 1.5” binder-white with clear view cover (please get that exact size)
- 1- 0.5” inch white binder with clear view cover (2nd trimester project)
- 4- solid colored 2 pocket plastic folders (no brads)
- 2- block erasers (or your own box of pencil top erasers to use throughout the year)
- 1- set of state name/capital flash cards (may be homemade)-start memorizing!
- 1- pencil box/pouch (small to medium size/desk space is very limited)

Summer Assignments:
For English, please access and use iReady for enrichment. Also, make sure to read over the summer break! Be prepared to talk about your reading when we return in August. iReady is available this summer. It is recommended that students complete 40 min per week in math. Incoming IM1 students have a summer Google Classroom.
